Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
1226 AM CDT Fri Oct 10 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Post frontal drier air continue to infiltrating the area from the
north. This will bring an end to rain chances for the next 5 to
7 days and will also bring in lower humidity values through the
weekend. Minimum RH values in the 45-55% range are expected
today. This weekend will see another surge of drier air will
slide in and this will lead to minimum RH values falling to
between 35 and 45 percent each day through the end of next week.
Winds will remain somewhat gusty from the north at around 10 to
15 mph today, but as high pressure takes over this weekend winds
will drop to around 5 mph through Monday. A reinforcing front on
Tuesday will push northerly winds up a bit to between 5 and
10 mph for both Tuesday . and Wednesday.
