Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
546 AM CDT Sun Oct 12 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Drier air from the wake of a frontal boundary passage still hangs
on into the area, bringing lower humidity values and keeping rain
chances away for the next 5 to 7 days. This end of this weekend
will continue to see drier air slide hang around and this will
lead to minimum RH values falling to between 35 and 45 percent
each day through the end of next week. Winds have come down now
and will hold that way throughout the week. A reinforcing front
on Tuesday will push northerly winds up a bit to between 5 and
10 mph for both Tuesday and Wednesday.
