Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
527 AM CDT Wed Aug 13 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Deep tropical moisture remains in place across the northern Gulf
Coast which will remain in place going through midweek. Daily
mainly afternoon/evening chances for showers/storms can be
expected with greater coastal coverage during the morning hours.
We dry out some going into late week and into the weekend with
more routine afternoon shower/storm coverage in the 30-50% range.
Winds will remain light outside of precipitation and the
enhancement of moisture across the area will keep afternoon MinRH
in the 50-60% range through the weekend. No critical fire weather
concerns anticipated.
