Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
333 PM CDT Thu May 22 2025

.DISCUSSION...

A frontal boundary has stalled near the Louisiana coast.
Relative humidities will moderate a bit on Friday, remaining
above 40 percent in most areas. The light wind flow will also be
more susceptible to directional changes as a result of sea
breeze or other weak boundaries. Over the weekend, the high will
shift toward Florida allowing for a persistent southeast wind
and higher minimum RH to take hold, in response to the old
boundary moving northward again as a warm front.
