Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
416 PM CDT Wed Aug 20 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to
develop again late this afternoon and early evening. More
numerous showers and storms are forecast starting on Thursday and
persisting into Saturday as a weak frontal boundary stalls near
the area. RH values will remain well above any critical
thresholds and winds will remain light the end of the week. The
front is projected to push offshore early next week. This will
allow slightly drier air to feed into the area. Rain chances will
diminish to only isolated showers and storms and RH values will
fall into the 40 to 50 percent range north of I-10. Fog is not
expected tonight or tomorrow night across the area.
