Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
1153 AM CDT Wed Aug 19 2026

.DISCUSSION...

As high pressure dominates the region though much of this week,
we will see temperatures above average with daytime highs well
into the 90s and overnight lows in the upper 70s. Rain will be
very difficult to come by for many areas but a stray shower or
thunderstorm is possible during the peak heating hours. Lowest
daily RH values will remain in the mid 40 to 60% range through
the week.
