Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
122 PM CDT Sat May 9 2026

.DISCUSSION...

No fire weather concerns through Monday as a humid air mass
remains in place across the region with relative humidity
remaining generally above 70 percent in most places even during
the afternoon hours. An active weather pattern will continue with
scattered to numerous showers and embedded thunderstorms each day
providing wetting rains across the area. Likely will finally be
drying out late Monday into Tuesday, with warming/drier weather
through the rest of the upcoming week ahead.
