Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
1226 AM CDT Mon Oct 6 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Low pressure will gradually dissipate over western Louisiana
today, but lingering higher rain chances will remain in place
over the area. Winds will be more southeasterly, but only around
10 mph. Rain chances will then gradually decrease on Tuesday and
Wednesday as high pressure starts to build over the area, and dry
weather conditions are anticipated for the end of the week. RH
values will be greater than 60 percent today and into Wednesday,
then 50 to 60 percent for the remainder of the workweek.
Conditions also look a bit more conducive for some patchy light
fog development in southwest Mississippi and areas north of
I-12 in southeast Louisiana both Monday and Tuesday nights.
