Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
1127 AM CST Sun Nov 9 2025

.DISCUSSION...

The cold front has already moved through much of the area with
very dry air already infiltrating the region. The colder air will
follow up later today and through tomorrow. Strong northerly
winds ara already in place will continue through tomorrow. The
next 36 to 48 hours will be MUCH colder and Min RH values will be
at critically low levels (below 30%) on tomorrow and Tuesday.
This will elevate the risk for wildfires. A surface high will
filter into the area by Tuesday, keeping the winds below critical
thresholds while min RH gets down into the mid to upper 20s.
