Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
156 AM CDT Fri Oct 18 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Critically dry conditions remain in place today, but Min RH values
will gradually increase each day as moisture mixes back into the
area. Afternoon Min RH values will be around 30-40% in more
interior areas of southern MS, with values closer to 45-55% along
the coast through the weekend and into next week. Northeasterly
to easterly winds will remain below 15 mph through much of the
forecast period as we remain situated on the southern flank of a
strong area of high pressure to the north of the region.
