Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
1152 PM CDT Mon Aug 24 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Drought conditions have depleted fuel moisture, but it appears
that some relief is on the way. Showers and thunderstorms will
move across the area each afternoon, and total rain amounts of
2 to 3 inches could wet most areas this week. Lowest daily RH
values will be in the 50 to 60 percent range through the week.
