Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
122 PM CDT Fri Jun 12 2026

.DISCUSSION...

A typical summer pattern is expected through the weekend as a
broad area of high pressure remains centered over the eastern
Gulf, with southerly to southeasterly winds around 10 mph and min
RH values ranging from 45 to 55 percent. By next week, a weak
front will move into the area, leading to higher rain chances,
increased min RH of 60-70 percent, and slightly stronger
south-southeasterly winds around 10-15 mph. Light, patchy fog may
also develop tonight and into tomorrow morning, mainly across
inland areas including southwest Mississippi and portions of the
Florida Parishes.
