Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
342 PM CDT Sat Aug 9 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Isolated to scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms will
begin near the coast around midday and spread inland through the
afternoon hours each day. Minimum relative humidity values remain
well above critical thresholds, generally between 50/north and
70/south percent. Winds will remain generally below 10 mph
outside of thunderstorms. Boundaries from sea/lake breeze and
storm outflows will also be affecting wind velocities. Rain
chances will increase and PoPs will be in the 60-70% range Sunday
into the workweek.
