Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
1226 PM CDT Thu Oct 9 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Post frontal drier air continue to infiltrating the area from the
north. This will bring an end to rain chances for the next 5 to
7 days and will also bring in lower humidity values through the
weekend. First surge of drier air is already moving in which will
lead to min RH values in the 45-55% range today and Friday. A
second surge of drier air will slide in late Friday and that will
lead to Min RH values this weekend ranging from the mid 30 to mid
40 percent. We will see north winds around 10 to 15 mph today and
Friday then as high pressure takes over winds will drop to around
5 mph this weekend. /CAB/
