The National Weather Service in New Orleans has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central St. Charles Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
  Central St. John The Baptist Parish in southeastern Louisiana...

* Until 900 PM CDT.

* At 751 PM CDT, Emergency management reported flooding from earlier
  heavy rainfall across Destrehan, Hahnville and Luling. Between 2
  and 4.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will
  continue, but no additional rainfall is expected at this time.
  Flash flooding is already occurring.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Hahnville, Laplace, Reserve, Montz, Taft, Killona, Norco, New
  Sarpy, Destrehan, Edgard, Boutte, Paradis, Luling, St. Rose, Ama,
  Garyville and Bayou Gauche.

This includes the following Interstates...
Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 198 and 211.
Interstate 55 in Louisiana between mile markers 1 and 4.
Interstate 310 between mile markers 5 and 11.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
