For waters beyond five nautical miles off shore on Lake Huron

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...Weak low pressure tracks through the Great Lakes today
with widespread rain and modest winds. A stronger low pressure
system arriving from the Midwest then rapidly deepens over the
northern Great Lakes Wednesday into Wednesday night, leading to a
long duration of gales through early Friday. Much cooler air
arrives with snow squalls becoming likely Thursday into Friday.
The next system will work through the area on Sunday.

MORNING...

.TONIGHT...Southeast winds 5 to 10 knots increasing to 10 to
15 knots early in the morning. Rain. Patchy fog. Waves 1 to
3 feet.
.WEDNESDAY...Southeast winds 10 to 15 knots becoming south 15 to
20 knots with gusts to around 30 knots in the late morning and
early afternoon...then becoming southwest 20 to 25 knots with
gusts to 35 knot gales late in the afternoon. Rain in the
morning...then a chance of rain in the afternoon. Waves 2 to
4 feet building to 12 to 16 feet. Waves occasionally around
20 feet.
.WEDNESDAY NIGHT...Southwest winds 20 to 25 knots becoming west
to 30 knots in the late evening and early morning...then
increasing to 35 knot gales after midnight. Gusts to 40 knot
gales. Rain and snow in the evening...then snow after midnight.
Waves 14 to 18 feet. Waves occasionally around 23 feet.
.THURSDAY...Northwest at 35 knot gales with gusts to 40 knot
gales. Snow. Waves 15 to 20 feet. Waves occasionally around
25 feet.
.THURSDAY NIGHT...Northwest at 40 knot gales. Snow likely in the
evening...then a chance of snow after midnight. Waves 15 to
20 feet. Waves occasionally around 25 feet.
.FRIDAY...Northwest winds to 30 knots decreasing to 10 to
15 knots. A chance of snow. Waves 12 to 16 feet subsiding to 6 to
9 feet late in the afternoon. Waves occasionally around 20 feet.
.SATURDAY...West winds 5 to 10 knots becoming south 10 to
15 knots until early morning. Snow likely in the late morning and
early afternoon. Snow until early morning. Waves 2 to 4 feet
subsiding to 1 to 3 feet in the late morning and early
afternoon...then building to 3 to 5 feet early in the evening
building to 5 to 7 feet in the late evening and early morning.
Waves occasionally around 10 feet.
.SUNDAY...South winds 10 to 15 knots becoming southwest 15 to
20 knots in the late morning and early afternoon...then veering
to the west until early morning. Snow with rain likely until
afternoon...then a chance of snow and rain until early morning.
