For waters beyond five nautical miles off shore on Lake Huron

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...Two areas of low pressure effect the area tonight
through early Friday. First low, 29.70 inches, moves into the
southern Great Lakes tonight generating wintry mix over these
waters with snow to the north. The second low, 29.30 inches, then
tracks along the northern shore of Lake Superior Thursday night.
This system brings the potential for widespread gales over the
central Great Lakes as well as areas of freezing spray. A Gale
Warning is in effect for all Lake Huron Thursday evening into
Friday morning.

MORNING...

.TONIGHT...South winds 5 to 10 knots becoming southeast 15 to
20 knots. Waves 1 to 3 feet building to 3 to 5 feet after
midnight.
.THURSDAY...Southeast winds 10 to 15 knots becoming south 15 to
20 knots late in the morning...then veering to the southwest
early in the afternoon becoming west to 30 knots with gusts to
40 knot gales late in the afternoon. Snow likely in the morning...
then a chance of snow in the afternoon. Waves 4 to 6 feet
building to 8 to 12 feet late in the afternoon. Waves
occasionally around 15 feet.
.THURSDAY NIGHT...West at 35 knot gales with gusts to 40 knot
gales. Freezing spray. Waves 12 to 16 feet. Waves occasionally
around 20 feet. A gale warning may be needed.
.FRIDAY...West winds to 30 knots with gusts to 35 knot gales
decreasing to 15 to 20 knots. Freezing spray in the morning.
Waves 10 to 14 feet subsiding to 6 to 9 feet early in the
afternoon. Waves occasionally around 18 feet.
.FRIDAY NIGHT...West winds 15 to 20 knots decreasing to 10 to
15 knots in the late evening and overnight. Waves 4 to 6 feet.
Waves occasionally around 8 feet.
.SATURDAY...West winds 5 to 10 knots veering to the east late in
the afternoon...then becoming northeast 10 to 15 knots late in
the evening. A chance of snow late in the morning. Snow likely
late in the afternoon. Waves 1 to 3 feet.
.SUNDAY...North winds 10 to 15 knots becoming northwest 15 to
20 knots in the late morning and early afternoon...then becoming
west 10 to 15 knots until early morning. Waves 2 to 4 feet.
.MONDAY...Southwest winds 5 to 10 knots becoming west 10 to
15 knots. Waves 2 to 4 feet.

occasionally around 18 feet.
.FRIDAY...West winds 20 to 25 knots with gusts to around 30 knots
decreasing to 15 to 20 knots in the late morning and afternoon.
Freezing spray in the morning. Waves 8 to 12 feet subsiding to
5 to 7 feet early in the afternoon. Waves occasionally around
15 feet.
.FRIDAY NIGHT...West winds 10 to 15 knots decreasing to 5 to
10 knots after midnight. Waves 3 to 5 feet subsiding to 1 to
3 feet after midnight.
.SATURDAY...West winds 5 to 10 knots veering to the northeast
late in the morning...then becoming east 10 to 15 knots late in
the afternoon backing to the northeast late in the evening. Snow
likely late in the morning. Waves 1 to 3 feet building to 2 to
4 feet late in the evening.
.SUNDAY...North winds 15 to 20 knots becoming west 10 to
15 knots. Waves 3 to 5 feet subsiding to 2 to 4 feet in the late
evening and early morning.
.MONDAY...West winds 5 to 10 knots becoming southwest 10 to
15 knots in the late morning and early afternoon...then
decreasing to 5 to 10 knots early in the evening becoming west
10 to 15 knots in the late evening and early morning. Waves 1 to
3 feet.
