056 FZUS61 KCLE 111316 GLFLE Open Lake Forecast for Lake Erie National Weather Service Cleveland OH 916 AM EDT Tue Mar 11 2025 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Erie Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... A cold front sweeps southeastward across Lake Erie today. Behind the cold front, a ridge averaging 30.10 inches impacts Lake Erie through Thursday night as the parent high pressure center moves from the northern Great Lakes to the Canadian Maritimes. A warm front sweeps northward across Lake Erie on Friday and is followed by a trough averaging 29.50 inches and overspreading the lake from the southwest on Saturday. Simultaneously, a low wobbles northeastward from the central Great Plains to the Upper Midwest and deepens to 28.90 inches.
