861 FZUS61 KCLE 041356 GLFLE Open Lake Forecast for Lake Erie National Weather Service Cleveland OH 956 AM EDT Fri Jul 4 2025 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Erie Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... A ridge averaging 30.10 inches exits slowly southeastward from the Lake Erie region through Sunday. This evolution of the ridge will allow a warm front to sweep northward across Lake Erie tonight. On Sunday night through Monday evening, a cold front is expected to drift southeastward across Lake Erie. Behind the cold front, another ridge builds from the Upper Midwest through this Tuesday. By Wednesday, the ridge should begin to exit eastward as a weak trough averaging 29.95 inches overspreads the Lake Erie region from the west.
