...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN AVOYELLES PARISH
THROUGH 945 PM CDT...

At 909 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Hessmer, or near Marksville, moving south at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to vegetation and outdoor
         objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Marksville, Bunkie, Moreauville, Cottonport, Mansura, Hessmer,
Evergreen, and Plaucheville.

This includes Interstate 49 between mile markers 48 and 50.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
