...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN JEFFERSON DAVIS AND
SOUTHWESTERN ACADIA PARISHES THROUGH 1130 PM CST...

At 1059 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Jennings, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Crowley, Jennings, Welsh, Lake Arthur, Iota, Mermentau, Evangeline,
Morse, Maxie, Egan, Thornwell, Lyons Point, Estherwood, Roanoke, and
Midland.

This includes Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 55 and
86.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
