...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTH CENTRAL CAMERON AND
SOUTHEASTERN CALCASIEU PARISHES THROUGH 800 PM CDT...
At 731 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Grand Lake, moving east at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Lake Charles, Sulphur, Grand Lake, Lake Charles Regional Airport,
Carlyss, Hacketts Corner, Heberts Marina, Sweet Lake, Holmwood, and
Hackberry.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
