...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN EVANGELINE...
SOUTHERN AVOYELLES AND NORTHEASTERN ST. LANDRY PARISHES THROUGH 630
PM CDT...

At 554 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Dupont, or near Bayou Current, moving southwest at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Opelousas, Bunkie, Simmesport, Melville, Moreauville, Palmetto, Bayou
Current, Morrow, Cottonport, Washington, Evergreen, Plaucheville,
Goudeau, Indian Lake, Chicot State Park, Whiteville, Big Cane, Big
Bend, Dupont, and Grand Prairie.

This includes Interstate 49 between mile markers 23 and 53.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
