...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 AM CST SUNDAY FOR
NORTHWESTERN EVANGELINE, SOUTH CENTRAL RAPIDES, ALLEN, EAST CENTRAL
BEAUREGARD AND SOUTHEASTERN VERNON PARISHES...

At 1030 PM CST, local law enforcement reported flash flooding near
Elizabeth. Between 4 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. Additional
rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in the warned area.
Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing
         flash flooding.

SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Oakdale, Oberlin, Glenmora, Elizabeth, Reeves, Mittie, Dry Creek,
  Grant, Lecompte, Allen Parish Airport, Harmony, Leblanc, Forest
  Hill, Mcnary and Union Hill.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
