Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions are likely later this afternoon across western and north central Nebraska. Minimum relative humidity will range from 20 percent in the eastern panhandle, to around 30 percent in the eastern Sandhills. Winds will be from the south or southeast at 10 to 20 MPH with some gusts up to 30 MPH possible. On Wednesday, a cold front will push into western Nebraska, then transition across the remainder of western and north central Nebraska Wednesday night. Some elevated fire weather conditions will be possible across southwestern Nebraska Wednesday afternoon. With passage of the cold front, there will be decent threat for showers and thunderstorms late Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night. Precipitation will linger into Thursday and Thursday night with drying conditions Friday. Beyond Wednesday, fire weather concerns will decrease across the area. .TODAY... Sky/weather.........Sunny.
