.DISCUSSION...
Ongoing rain across the southern Sandhills will expand further
north into the Thedford area by midday Tuesday. Precipitation via
rain/snow water equivalent should exceed a tenth of an inch and
perhaps approach 0.20". Temperatures, beneath cloudy skies with
precipitation in the area, will struggle to warm much today as
highs only reach the middle to upper 40s. Winds will remain fairly
light and variable, perhaps favoring a southerly direction with
speeds of less than 10 mph likely.
Precipitation exits tonight with temperatures falling as skies
clear. Low temperatures should reach the upper 20s with excellent
humidity recovery likely as patchy fog develops. Winds will
gradually shift to the west by early morning Wednesday with speeds
continuing to hold below 10 mph. Warmer temperatures arrive for
Wednesday and again Thursday as afternoon highs settle around 60F.
This will allow for afternoon humidity to fall to around 30
percent each day. Winds will favor northwest on Wednesday,
becoming more northerly on Thursday but gusts should remain in the
15-20 mph range each day. Expecting some drier conditions on
Friday with similar temperatures then a warming trend into the
weekend with highs climbing to the 70s and some modest fire
weather concerns.
