.DISCUSSION...
Southeast winds are expected to prevail, becoming more southerly
by 10 PM CDT. As winds funnel into the canyons, expecting a local
increase to around 18 to 23 mph. While relative humidity values
remain around 44 percent this afternoon, southwest slopes may see
a local decrease to around 35 percent. By 7 PM, expecting humidity
to recover around 50 percent, with overnight humidity increasing
over 95 percent. Cloud cover increases to overcast this evening,
around 9 PM. A 25 percent chance of thunderstorms exists this
evening and overnight, which may bring gusty, erratic winds and
frequent lightning. However, confidence in exact locations of
storms remains low, given weak forcing.
Tomorrow, temperatures reach around 89 degrees, with minimum
humidity decreasing around 60 percent. Winds remain southerly
around 10 to 15 mph, gusting up to 20 mph, In the canyons, this
may increase wind gusts up to 25 mph. Thunderstorm chances
increase tomorrow afternoon, with a greater than 60 percent chance
for thunderstorms after 4 PM CDT. Any thunderstorm tomorrow
brings a risk for very strong to damaging wind gusts and frequent
lightning.
