...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 6 PM CST FRIDAY...

.DISCUSSION...

Winds out of the south-southwest will continue through the
evening. Speeds should remain fairly light at or around 5 to 10
mph through the overnight. A wind shift line will set up near the
Highway 97 corridor of southern Cherry into Hooker/McPherson
Counties with more southerly flow to the east and persistent
southwesterly flow to the west. Should this waver at all,
direction may see a slight change. Humidity recovery tonight will
be poor, with steady light winds and lows only falling to the
lower 40s. As a result, humidity values will only reach around 50
to 60 percent.

Tomorrow, greater fire weather concerns will exist with similar
humidity minimums but stronger winds. Daytime highs will make a
run towards 80 degrees, pushing afternoon humidity minimums back
down into the middle to upper teens. Westerly winds will be much
stronger, with sustained winds around 10 to 20 mph and gusts as
high as 30 to 35 mph. Winds will be quick to increase after
daybreak Friday with gusts likely surpassing 25 mph by 9-10am MST.
