Temperatures will be cooler today and winds will be lighter they Monday`s. Minimum relative humidity will reach near 20 percent in the eastern panhandle this afternoon with wind gusts around 25 MPH. This will lead to near critical fire weather conditions in the eastern Nebraska Panhandle. For the remainder of the forecast area, minimum RH will bottom out at 25 to 35 percent and wind speeds will decrease east of the panhandle. The next threat for critical to near critical fire weather conditions will arrive on Thursday afternoon. This is in advance of a strong weather system Friday into Saturday. Gusty southerly winds are expected Thursday with minimum RH of 15 to 25 percent. There will be a decent threat for rain and snow Friday into Friday night across the area and strong winds are expected Friday into Saturday.
