567 FNUS53 KLBF 191910 FWFLBF Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western and North Central for Nebraska National Weather Service North Platte NE 210 PM CDT Sat Oct 19 2024 .DISCUSSION... Fire weather concerns will remain limited in the near-term though medium range forecasts suggest another period of elevated concerns appears probable before the end of October. In the post-frontal airmass, lingering low clouds have helped keep temperatures on the cooler side. Temperatures rebound Sunday and much of the upcoming week. As a deep system approaches Sunday night into Monday, strong southerly winds will develop. This will draw richer low-level moisture and increasing precipitation chances. Confidence in widespread wetting rains has decreased with QPF amounts exceeding 0.10" likely limited to south central Nebraska now. A frontal boundary Tuesday night into Wednesday will again lead to some precipitation chances across northern Nebraska but this too is becoming more questionable with respect to wetting precipitation. The medium to long-term pattern continues to suggest increased ridging aloft with a return to well-above normal temperatures. Greater overlap of stronger winds and low humidity appears possible late week. NEZ204-201130- Eastern Panhandle/Crescent Lake NWR- 110 PM MDT Sat Oct 19 2024 .TONIGHT...
