Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central for Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
414 AM CDT Fri Jul 4 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Fire weather concerns remain limited through the middle of next
week.

Expansive rain and thunderstorms are likely this afternoon and
evening for much of western and central Nebraska. Wetting rains
appear likely for many locations as probabilities of exceeding
0.25" rainfall generally range from 40 to 70 percent.

Additional rain and thunderstorms appear possible each day
Saturday through Tuesday though rainfall prospects appear more
limited than seen Friday. Around the middle of the week, broad
upper ridging across the Desert Southwest will strengthen,
allowing temperatures to climb to slightly above normal values.
Even as this occurs, lingering mugginess will preclude critical
humidity levels from occurring. Some concern will exist to the
west across the Panhandle but currently this drier air does not
appear likely to extend further east into the local area.
