.DISCUSSION...

Temperatures remain above average through Saturday across western
and north central Nebraska. With these higher temperatures, the
lowest relative humidity values drop into the 20 to 30 percent
range across western Nebraska the next few days. Winds remain out
of the south the next few days, with stronger gusts up to 25 mph
on Friday afternoon. On Saturday, temperatures remain in the 80s
across the region, with humidity remaining around 25 to 35 percent
across the region. However, very gusty winds are expected,
especially east of an Ogallala to Valentine line, where gusts
could easily exceed 40 mph. With the combination of these
conditions the next few days, elevated fire weather conditions are
possible for western and north central Nebraska.

Saturday evening, a cold front tracks across the region, bringing
our next chances for rainfall and ushering in cooler than seasonal
temperatures. Highs on Sunday through Wednesday are expected to
remain cooler than seasonal, with highs in the 50s and 60s. Some
gusty winds may persist on Sunday as a low tracks out of the
region, but should remain less than 25 mph early next week.
Chances of rain are also possible, given an active pattern, which
should limit fire weather concerns after Saturday evening.
