.DISCUSSION...
Fire weather concerns remain low today and tomorrow, as
temperatures remain cooler than seasonal average. Additionally,
winds remain light, with recent moisture keeping relative humidity
values above 30 percent.
By Wednesday, upper level ridging will usher in the return of
above seasonal temperatures, with widespread highs in the 90s
across western and north central Nebraska. With the higher
afternoon temperatures, relative humidity values drop into the 20
to 30 percent range across portions of the Panhandle. Winds are
expected to be gusty out of the south on Wednesday, with some
question on whether the strongest wind gusts will overlap with
lowest humidity values. This may introduce elevated to near
critical fire weather concerns across portions of the Panhandle.
While humidity values may be lower and temperatures higher on
Thursday and Friday, winds appear to remain below critical values
at this time.
