Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central for Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
141 PM CDT Fri Oct 4 2024

.DISCUSSION...
No rainfall is expected across western and north central Nebraska
during the next 7 days.

A strong Pacific cold front moving into the Pacific Northwest
will enter northern Nebraska around sunrise Saturday and reach
southern Nebraska by late morning. A surge of warm dry air will
precede the front.

The wind forecast Saturday suggests northwest winds 15 to 25 mph
gusting to 25 to 40 mph. A surge of dry air ahead of the cold
front Saturday morning will lower humidity below 15 percent in
many areas. A slight increase in humidity is expected behind the
cold front but values below 20 percent should prevail.

Sunday through Friday...Humidity will fall to 15 to 25 percent
each day as another wave of warm dry weather builds into western
and north central Nebraska. There no strong weather systems
expected and winds are generally expected to remain below 20 mph
during this time.
