Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central for Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
141 PM CST Fri Dec 5 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Fire weather concerns are expected to remain low through this
weekend across western and north central Nebraska. Increasing
moisture will keep humidity values well above critical
thresholds each day into this weekend. In addition, below average
temperatures return for Sunday. Gusty northwest will persist today
and again tomorrow, with gusts of 25 to 35 miles per hour
expected. Light snow accumulations are possible Saturday as well,
primarily across portions of north central Nebraska.

Some increase in fire concerns are possible early next week, as
temperatures return to well above average (highs in 50s to low
60s). Though humidity values look to remain above critical
thresholds, the mild temperatures will combine with gusty west
winds. This could lead to elevated fire concerns, especially
Tuesday afternoon.
