Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central for Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
254 PM CDT Mon Sep 15 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Following Monday, fire weather concerns will remain low through
much of the upcoming forecast period.

A cool front will settle south into the area on Tuesday and though
temperatures will once again be mild ahead of this feature,
pooling moisture will offset the warmth and prevent humidity from
falling below 35 percent. Coincident with this, cooler
temperatures are likely with highs only in the upper 60s to lower
70s. Rainfall potential appears plentiful, with heavy rain
possible Tuesday afternoon via scattered thunderstorms and a
slower, more steady rain Wednesday through Friday. All this
combined will likely lead to widespread one inch or greater
rainfall amounts and some locations potentially approaching three
inches.

Temperatures appear likely to rebound by next weekend, though
recent rains and overall pattern recognition suggest the fire
weather concerns will remain limited for this time frame.
