.DISCUSSION...
Locally elevated fire weather concerns will exist Thursday across
portions of central Nebraska. On the back side of a meso high,
gusty west winds will develop for areas along and and north of
Highway 2. Dry air coincident with this feature will drive
afternoon humidity values into the upper teens to lower 20s. The
greatest concerns will be far northern Zone 206, Zone 208, and
Zone 204. Lack of confidence seeing Red Flag Warning criteria
being met precludes headlines.
Beyond Thursday, fire weather concerns remain limited as well
below normal temperatures remain likely and light precipitation
chances dot the forecast. The greatest potential will be late
Thursday through early Saturday across northern Nebraska but the
latest QPF outlook is a few hundredths at best. Much colder
temperatures arrive next week and will include additional
precipitation potential, though confidence in precise amounts and
locations affected remains low.
