265 FNUS53 KLBF 020807 FWFLBF Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western and North Central for Nebraska National Weather Service North Platte NE 307 AM CDT Sat Aug 2 2025 .DISCUSSION... Fire weather concerns remain low through early next week as cooler temperatures remain across the region. Temperatures remain below normal through Sunday before upper ridging builds in and brings about a warm up for much of next week. Until then, periodic rain and thunderstorm chances will dot the forecast with another round favoring southwest Nebraska late tonight. Additional chances exist Sunday but coverage and rainfall potential remains somewhat uncertain. Precipitation chances really diminish towards the middle of next week as upper ridging amplifies. Temperatures will quickly return to widespread 90s by Wednesday with values climbing to around 10-15F above normal by Thursday and Friday. Ridge breakdown will occur around this time and a cool front will settle south into the region. Temperatures may cool for the following weekend which may temper concerns once again.
