Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central for Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
444 AM CDT Mon Aug 4 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Fire weather concerns will remain limited through Monday due to
humidity remaining well above critical levels and the potential
for isolated to scattered wetting rains.

Fire weather concerns increase for Tuesday and beyond. A warm
front will lift northeast on Tuesday and be quickly followed by
increasing ridging from the Desert Southwest. Daytime highs will
climb into the 90s, quickly increasing to upper 90s and low 100s
each day Thursday and Friday. The above normal temperatures should
foster humidity minimums falling below 30 percent, particularly
west of Highway 83. Limiting concerns will be fuel receptiveness
and marginal winds.

Ridge breakdown begins this weekend and a surface boundary will
settle south into the area by Saturday. This will support
increasing precipitation chances and cooler temperatures. The
latest forecast calls for daytime highs falling to the lower 80s
by Sunday, continuing into early next week.
