.DISCUSSION...
The latest forecast trends support a more limited fire weather
concern for Tuesday, as humidity has trended higher. Lowest
humidities on Tuesday afternoon are still expected to remain west
of Highway 61, though are now expected to remain above 25 percent.
Winds also look to remain on the lighter side, coming from the
east around 10 mph, though there may still be some gusts up to 25
mph throughout the afternoon. Temperatures also trended slightly
cooler, with highs in the mid to upper 90s now only expected
generally in southwest Nebraska and the southern Panhandle.
Beyond Tuesday, fire weather concerns remain limited, as daily
precipitation chances are expected Wednesday onward. The upper
level pattern will support a push of monsoonal moisture across
the region, supporting daily precipitation chances, with ensemble
forecasts indicating anywhere from a 40 to 70 percent chance for
most of the area to receive at least an inch of total rainfall
through the weekend. Additionally, highs are expected to remain
below seasonal Thursday into the weekend, with highs mostly in the
70s.
