.DISCUSSION...

Temperatures remain above average today and Thursday across
western and north central Nebraska. Across portions of the
Panhandle into western Cherry County, afternoon humidity values
drop into the 15 to 25 percent range today, with slightly higher
values around 25 to 30 percent Thursday. Winds remain mostly
southerly today, with peak gusts around 20 mph. Winds shift to
northerly Thursday afternoon and evening as a cold front
approaches, however gusts are expected to remain below 20 mph.
With the low humidity, elevated fire weather conditions are
possible both today and tomorrow, with conditions more likely this
afternoon.

Thursday night, as the cold front sweeps across the region, the
pattern brings near daily chances of showers and thunderstorms
through the middle of next week. Additionally, temperatures return
to below seasonal as early as Saturday, lasting through at least
the middle of next week.
