.NOW...
Through 300 pm, scattered showers and thunderstorms will wax and
wane within a broad zone from east of the Marathon Humps, to eastern
portions of the Lower Keys, and also in the coastal waters
surrounding the Dry Tortugas. Movement will be chaotic and generally
less than 5 to 10 knots, although the showers and storms near the Dry
Tortugas will move discernibly to the west- southwest. The stronger
storms will produce wind gusts near 30 knots, blinding downpours,
and occasional cloud to surface lightning strikes. The Sombrero Key
CMAN station recently gusted to 35 knots under a collapsing
thunderstorm.
