Through 11:00 am, widely scattered showers with embedded thunderstorms will continue to track to the northwest across the Florida Keys coastal waters at around 10 knots. The greatest coverage of precipitation will be across the western Florida Straits, the Dry Tortugas, Hawk Channel adjacent to the Lower Keys, and the offshore southeastern Gulf waters. This activity will be capable of producing brief moderate to heavy downpours, wind gusts of 25 to 30 knots, and occasional lightning strikes. In addition, this activity may also impact the Island Chain, bringing a quick trace to couple tenths of an inch of rainfall, particularly across the Middle and Lower Keys. $$
