Through 8:00 am, scattered showers with the potential for a thunderstorm will continue to wax and wane throughout the Florida Keys coastal waters as they continue to trek west northwest at near 10 knots. This activity will be capable of producing brief moderate to heavy downpours, wind gusts of 25 to 30 knots, and potential occasional lightning strikes. Occasionally, a shower may impact the Island Chain bringing a quick trace to couple tenths of an inch of rainfall, particularly the Upper Keys. $$ MJV
