...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM NEAR SMITH SHOAL LIGHT...

The areas affected include...
Gulf Waters from East Cape Sable to Chokoloskee 20 to 60 nm out and
beyond 5 fathoms...
Gulf of America from west end of Seven Mile Bridge to Halfmoon Shoal
out to 5 fathoms...
Hawk Channel from west end of Seven Mile Bridge to Halfmoon Shoal out
to the reef...

At 440 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists detected a a
strong thunderstorm, capable of producing wind gusts near 30 knots.
This thunderstorm was located near Smith Shoal Light. The
thunderstorm was nearly stationary.

Locations that will be affected include...
Smith Shoal Light, Northwest Channel Buoy 1, and Cottrell Key.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Prepare for thunderstorms with wind gusts near 30 knots, locally
rough and confused seas, occasional lightning strikes, and
potentially blinding downpours. Get to a safe port as quickly, and as
safely as possible. When downpours reduce visibility, slow down.
