Fire Weather Planning Forecast for the Florida Keys
National Weather Service Key West FL
536 AM EDT Thu May 22 2025

...DISPERSION INDICES BELOW 20 EXPECTED ACROSS THE FLORIDA KEYS
THIS AFTERNOON...

.Discussion...
Conditions will be marginally favorable for a cloud line to
develop later this morning and into the afternoon. Some showers
and isolated thunderstorms may be embedded within this cloud line,
especially across the Lower Keys, including Big Pine. Otherwise,
light and variable winds will persist today resulting in poor
dispersion indices. Light and variable winds will continue into
Friday with a continued concern for low dispersion indices.
Thereafter, we may enter a prolonged, more active weather pattern
with rain and thunder chances returning closer to normal (20
percent).
