Fire Weather Planning Forecast for the Florida Keys
National Weather Service Key West FL
432 AM EDT Fri Aug 22 2025

.Discussion...
Hurricane Erin continues to race off into the North Atlantic
south of the Canadian Maritimes. A weak subtropical high pressure
ridge will continue to build into the Keys today and then settle
over the Keys through the weekend. This will result in another day
of light to gentle breezes, occasionally becoming variable. Even
though moisture remains quite plentiful through the weekend, we
lack a significant trigger to initiate more widespread showers and
thunderstorms. Therefore, slightly below normal PoPs (20%) remain
through the weekend. Min RH values are expected to be in the
lower 60s percent today and Saturday with decent RH recover to the
mid 80s percent tonight.
