...New AVIATION, MARINE, PREV DISCUSSION...

.AVIATION...
Issued at 305 PM EDT Wed Aug 13 2025
VFR conditions will prevail for the 18Z TAF period at EYW and
MTH. Short lived bouts of VCSH to possible VCTS cannot be ruled
out, but are not forming with enough consistency to warrant a
TEMPO group. Outside of showers, winds will remain southeasterly
from 5 to 10 knots.

.MARINE...
Issued at 1015 AM EDT Wed Aug 13 2025
No watches, warnings, or advisories are in effect for the waters
surrounding the Florida Keys. From synopsis, a broad ridge
stretching across the North Atlantic westward to the Florida
Peninsula will result in light to gentle east to southeast breezes
for the rest of the week through the weekend. Rain and thunder
chances will be near to below normal for this time of year,
tending to peak in the late overnight and early morning hours.

.PREV DISCUSSION...
Issued at 305 PM EDT Wed Aug 13 2025
A surprisingly quiet pre- sunrise period led to nearly cloud free
skies across the Florida Keys. Returns from the KBYX radar show
mostly non-meteorological echoes across the waters, and GOES-E Day
Cloud Phase microphysics images depict shallow, sparse cumulus
clouds over the Straits. The morning KKEY 12Z sounding measured a
few layers of CIN above the boundary layer with a PWAT near 2
inches, about halfway between the 50th and 75th percentile for the
day. Zooming out to the synoptic view, 500 mb heights rose
slightly over the past 12 hours and satellite water vapor
observations show a weak westward- moving TUTT north of the
Yucatan. All indications suggest drier, ridging conditions will
prevail today and tonight. Potential hazards for the day will
revolve around heat, because heat indices up to 108 F are
possible. Remember to stay hydrated!
