...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN PERRY...KNOTT AND
SOUTHWESTERN FLOYD COUNTIES THROUGH 530 PM EDT...

At 455 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Ary, or 7 miles north of Hazard, moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Hazard, Hindman, Estill, Pippa Passes, Wayland, Leburn, Handshoe,
Emmalena, Glo, Nealy, Bearville, Ivis, Ivan, Bulan, Bolyn, Demo,
Tina, Carrie, Talcum, and Mallie.

THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS...
 Hal Rogers Parkway near mile marker 59.
 Kentucky Highway 80 in Floyd County between mile markers 1 and 3.
 Kentucky Highway 80 in Knott County between mile markers 1 and 20.
 Kentucky Highway 80 in Perry County between mile markers 9 and 15.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM EDT for
southeastern Kentucky.
