Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
420 PM EDT Tue Apr 1 2025

.DISCUSSION....High pressure will bring cool and dry weather
through the first part of the night. A dry warm front then lifts
through our region late tonight and early Wednesday. The boundary
will be followed by warm and windy conditions area-wide on
Wednesday with maximum temperatures in the lower to mid 80s and
south to southwest gusts of 30 to 45 mph forecast. The strongest
winds are expected to occur over and west of the Daniel Boone
National Forest. An extended period of unsettled weather follows
from Wednesday night into early next week as a cold front settles
into the Ohio Valley and becomes nearly stationary. Significant
heavy rains (3 to 6 inches) are anticipated for at least the
northwestern portion of the forecast area. Lighter but still
soaking rains (1 to 3 inches) are expected over the rest of the
fire forecast area.
