Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
600 AM EDT Wed Mar 12 2025

...Critically Low Relative Humidity Today...
...Gusty Breeze From Late This Morning Through Early Evening...

.DISCUSSION...High pressure will keep fair weather and a dry low-
level air mass in place through most of tonight. This will result
in critically low relative humidity values again this afternoon at
many locations. Similar to yesterday, winds will also be gusty out
of the southwest with peak gusts of 15 to 20 mph at many
locations. Locally stronger gusts are possible over/west of the
Daniel Boone National Forest. On Thursday, a weak upper-level
system will bring a surge of deeper moisture and an increase in
cloud cover. However, while a stray shower or thunderstorm cannot
be ruled out on Thursday afternoon, most locations should remain
rain-free. Much better rain chances, with a potential for some
strong to severe thunderstorms, look to to impact the area on
Saturday.
