488 FNUS53 KJKL 171928 FWFJKL Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky National Weather Service Jackson KY 328 PM EDT Fri Oct 17 2025 .DISCUSSION....Surface high pressure will persist through the afternoon and for the first part of the day Saturday. However, surface high pressure will quickly breakdown ahead of an approaching cold front that`ll bring wetting rain to the area from Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. Forecast rainfall totals of about an inch is expected along and west of I-75 with lesser amounts east of that line. Surface high pressure returns to the area for Monday but another cold front is expected to gusty to strong winds to the area on Tuesday but little to no precipitation is expected with this front. Behind the exiting front, the first real chances of frost will exist for the middle of next week.
