Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
328 PM EDT Fri Oct 17 2025

.DISCUSSION....Surface high pressure will persist through the
afternoon and for the first part of the day Saturday. However,
surface high pressure will quickly breakdown ahead of an approaching
cold front that`ll bring wetting rain to the area from Saturday
afternoon through Sunday afternoon. Forecast rainfall totals of
about an inch is expected along and west of I-75 with lesser amounts
east of that line. Surface high pressure returns to the area for
Monday but another cold front is expected to gusty to strong winds to
the area on Tuesday but little to no precipitation is expected with
this front. Behind the exiting front, the first real chances of frost
will exist for the middle of next week.
