Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
502 AM EST Fri Jan 31 2025

.DISCUSSION...Widespread clouds and rain will move across
eastern Kentucky today, as a strong storm system, and its
surface boundaries, move through eastern third of the
country. The rain will taper off this afternoon, and should
finally move off to our east by late tonight. Surface fuels
will be thoroughly soaked due to the rainfall we`ve received
since yesterday, so fire danger should be very close to zero
for the next few days. After seeing highs in the upper 50s and
lower 60s today, cooler weather will be in store for Saturday,
behind a departed cold front, with highs in the mid 40s to
lower 50s on tap. This cool down will be short lived,
however, as temperatures should rebound into the upper 50s
and lower 60s again on Sunday, as high pressure moves in and
winds once again shift to the south and southwest, bringing
another surge of warm air into the region.
