...Rounds of Moderate to Heavy Rainfall to Affect the Area
Through the Upcoming Weekend...

Following recent heavy rainfall, another wave of low pressure will
bring another round of rain from today through Thursday morning.
With this system, rain could fall moderate to heavy at times mainly
for locations south of the Hal Rogers Parkway and KY Highway 80. At
this time, between one third and 1.25 inches are forecast from
today into Thursday morning, with locally higher amounts
possible.

With antecedent saturated soils, elevated stream levels and snowmelt;
significant rises and continued high water on creeks and streams is
forecast to occur. Near bankfull levels with instances of minor
flooding is possible along the main stem of the Cumberland and
Kentucky Rivers through Thursday or Friday.

An additional round of moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast from
late Friday night into Sunday morning. There is still a high degree
of uncertainty in rainfall amounts from this system, but should this
turn out on the wetter side of solutions, more widespread and
potentially significant flooding would be possible.

Stay tuned for further details and updates as the week progresses.
