Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia
National Weather Service Jacksonville FL
128 PM EDT Fri Oct 3 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Breezy onshore east northeast winds 15-25 mph gusting to 35 mph will
continue today becoming 10-20 mph inland gusting to 25 mph as strong
high pressure to the north builds down the east coast with a trough
along the coastal waters to the east bring scattered coastal showers
to the coast, but staying dry west of highway 301. Breezy ENE winds
persist Saturday and Sunday as strong high pressure remains NNE of
the region and a trough to the east with daily waves of showers and
isolated T`storms pushing onshore, but diminish further inland. A
surface low will develop Sunday along a frontal boundary to the
south with increasing rounds of coastal showers and some embedded
T`storms. Highest rainfall amounts through Sunday night will be 3-6
inches along and east of US17 with locally heavier amounts over
coastal Flagler/St Johns counties. Mostly cloudy skies will remain
through the weekend, lowering mixing heights and despite breezy
surface and transport winds will yield fair to good dispersions into
Sunday.

FOG POTENTIAL AND OTHER REMARKS...Significant fog is not anticipated
at this time.
